This Week
Thanks to a change in the recommendations made by Gov. Kelly we are able to have worship services in the church building again - with some added measures. Pastor Jake and Pastor Christie have posted an information video on our Facebook site. Please check that out.
We have moved out some of the chairs in the sanctuary and added some round tables. The tables are intended to be used by families with children. Each PreK-12 youth will be offered a bag of activities to help them as they follow the sermon. The remainder of the chairs have been placed in such a way that people are able to space themselves at the recommended spacing.
Also, to help ensure that we stay within the recommendations, we are offering worship at 9:30am and again at 11 so that we will have fewer people at each service. We have hand sanitizer available at various locations and "no contact" tithing available. The staff sanitizes each table and chair between services so that you can be assured that we are taking every precaution. However, if you are not comfortable meeting in the building, we understand and we will still be doing Facebook live during both services.
We are so thankful that we have been allowed to meet together in the building for worship. However, for the time being we are not able to have any meetings, services, or events in the building during the week. We hope that we will be able to return to these activities soon. The one exception is that the food pantry will remain open each Tuesday from 11a-1p. The only people allowed in the building during this ministry is the workers.
We do want to stress that SUMMER IS COMING! Pastor Christie is being very diligent to follow every recommendation by the state but making sure to create times of worship and fellowship for our youth of every age. Activity and snack bags will continue to go to each home during the week. We promise that although we will not be returning to our "normal" until probably August, we are working on alternative plans to engage youth of all ages through teh summer. Please watch for updates here and on Facebook. Remember - you are loved and prayed for!
